Imedi L offers both corporate and retail products and is the leader on the health insurance market. Written premium for 2014 is GEL 4.3 million. The company has a capital of GEL 17.8 million, with total assets of GEL 62.9 million.

Our Group

Georgian Healthcare Group is a vertically integrated company with a synergy business model that allows it to offer integrated healthcare and health insurance products to the market. The Group is the largest provider of private healthcare services geared at mass segment. Hospital has a network of 39 healthcare providers and more than 2,100 hospital beds and has the largest regional spread capable of servicing more than three million patients that is around two thirds of the population of Georgia.

Healthcare services are offered under the brand of Evex (www.evex.ge), whilst health insurance under the brand of Imedi L (www.imediL.ge).

 

Our Strategy

Georgian Healthcare Group’s strategy is aimed at income and profit maximization and market share increase through aggressively pursuing growth opportunities. We aim to achieve 30% market share in hospital business through the combination of organic growth and acquisitions. There are ample opportunities within the outpatient healthcare market that is grossly segmented at present. To achieve an increase in outpatient market share we plan to invest into upgrading medical equipment. We aim to maintain existing share in healthcare insurance market.

 

We specialise in the following four segments:

Referral Hospitals – the network includes 14 referral hospitals (multiprofile and specialised) with a total of 1,679 beds as at 31 December 2014. Hospitals are located in Tbilisi and major regional cities. Hospitals offer secondary and tertiary outpatient and inpatient diagnostic and surgical services. Hospitals act as regional centers for local population.

General Hospitals – the network includes 19 small size multiprofile hospitals (medical centres) with a total of 461 beds as at 31 December 2014. Hospitals are located in regional towns and municipalities and offer basic outpatient and inpatient diagnostic services and treatment for local patients. Patients are also referred to referral hospitals to receive secondary and/or tertiary medical care.

Outpatient Clinics – these are general and specialised clinics offering outpatient diagnostics and treatment. In certain cases, clinics can offer routine healthcare services that do not require an appointment. Clinics are located in Tbilisi and other major cities. There are total of six clinics as at 31 December 2014, two of which are located in Tbilisi.

Health Insurance – Georgian Healthcare Group operates largest health insurance provider in the country – Imedi L. Imedi L is a highly recognisable brand with wide distribution network servicing around 192,000 customers as at 30 September 2014. Imedi L offers a wide range of health insurance services and products that are tailored to customer needs. Its diverse product portfolio allows Imedi L to cater for the needs of not only largest corporates but individual customers as well.

Brand History

In July 2014 Aldagi completed the process of restructuring its business and now health and property insurance lines are underwritten by separate companies.

Health insurance is offered by Imedi L, whilst property and casualty insurance by Aldagi.

Good reputation and high brand awareness within the healthcare business prompted us to revive Imedi L brand.

Brand Mission

Quality of life is directly affected by quality of healthcare. Imedi L is the first company on Georgian market which serves the most important value – healthy life.

Brand Symbol

Imedi L brand revival prompted change in brand identity and communications language that resulted in refreshed yellow and blue colour ranges.

Yellow is associated with happiness and hope, blue with calm and harmony, whilst together they communicate Imedi L values and company mission – company that brings piece of mind to its customers and helps to attain healthy lifestyle.

L symbol has multiple meanings. In Georgian it is used to unite feel good words that end in L. When used in English these are transformed into short slogans such as:  L ive, L ive Healthy.

Imedi L logo is a branded blue colour photography logo. It is not static and is used in combination with yellow photographs that help to create certain mood. Photographs bear slogans with L symbol.

Financial Data

Imedi L offers both corporate and retail products and is the leader on the health insurance market. As of Y2016, gross premium written equals GEL 65.7 million, total equity and total assets GEL 13.2 million and GEL 61.3 million respectively.

Based on Y2016 data, Imedi L holds 35.33% market share.

 

  

Givi Giorgadze - General Director

Givi Giorgadze was appointed General Director of Imedi L on 1st of July 2016.

Givi has more than 13 years' experience working in Georgian banking and insurance industry.

In 2004-2005 Givi served as the head of Sales Office at BCI. In 2005 he was promoted to the Director of Corporate Sales Department at BCI.

In 2007 he moved to Energo-Pro Georgia to take responsibility for the Customer Service Department.

In 2008 Givi returned to the Group as the Head of Private Banking at Bank of Georgia. In 2013 he was appointed Deputy Head of Investment Management at Bank of Georgia.

In 2003 Givi graduated from Ivane Javakhishvili State University of Tbilisi with a degree in International Law. Givi also holds MSc in Finance and Investment from Cass Business School in London, UK. 

 

Kakha Ozashvili - Director of Operations Department

Kakha Ozashvili was appointed Director of Operations Department in July 2016.

In 2014-2016 Kakha headed Compliance and Internal Audit division, in 2013-2014 Operational Risk Management team.

Kakha has an experience working as operational risk officer and auditor.

Kakha has Bachelor's degree from European School of Management (ESM) as well as certificate from Caucasus Law School in Personal Data Protection.

Dimitri Datusani - Corporate Sales Director

Dato Datusani is Corporate Sales Director from 1st of July 2015.
Dato worked in Sales Department of then insurance company BCI from 2001.
Since 2006 he has been heading the Health Insurance Sales Department at Aldagi-BCI

Dato has an experience of working as a General Practitioner (GP) and at ambulance service.
He is a lecturer at GIPA reading Sales Management class.
Dato graduated from Medical Institute Sakartvelo, Medical Faculty.

Sergo Sakvarelidze - Claims Director

Sergo Sakvarelidze was appointed Claims Director on 1st of August 2014.

Before being appointed Claims Director for Imedi L, Sergo was heading Health Claims Division, and Claims Investigation and Monitoring Division at Aldagi-BCI before that, since September 2008.

Sergo graduated from Tbilisi State Medical University, Medical Faculty. He attended Business Administration and General Management courses for executive directors from Free University.

Nino Tatarishvili - Customer Relations Director

Nino was appointed Claims Director on 1st of August 2014 at Imedi L.

She was heading Customer Relations Department at Aldagi-BCI from 2010.

From 2008 Nino was manager of one of the branches of TBC Bank.

From 2002 Nino was warking at TBC Bank and starting from 2005 she held varied managerial positions.

Nino graduated from Caucasus School of Business with Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. Nino has 13 years’ experience working in the financial sector.

Maia Ivchenko - Public Relations and Marketing Director

Maiko Ivchenko was appointed Public Relations and Marketing Director on 1st of August 2014.

In 2006-2008, Maiko held PR Manager position at Aldagi-BCI. In 2008 she was promoted to head PR Division.

In 2003-2005 Maiko head of PR department at the Ministry of Agriculture.

Maiko graduated from Tbilisi Technical University with Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations. 

In 2007 Maiko attended training course at Georgian-American University (GAU) PR School.
